Special Awards, Distinctions and Descriptions of Constrained Eligibility
PSA Medals |
WIEP has recieved special recognition for efficient management from the
Photographic Society of America allowing the engraved PSA medals listed above to
be awarded by our judges.
Discretionary |
The number of DPS Silver Medal and Honor Ribbons available in each section
depends on how many images are entered. The number awarded up to that limit is
at the judges discretion.
Creative |
Creative is defined as Altered Reality. Any subject matter is acceptable as long as the Altered Reality guideline is apparent in the image. Altered Reality is intended to encourage experimental or non-traditional work. The image may be whatever the maker wants it to be within the constraints of the General Conditions of Entry (review item 4 in particular).
Human Interest |
Human Interest is defined as an image depicting a person or persons in an interactive, emotional or unusual situation, excluding sports action.
DVCCC |
The Delaware Valley Council of Camera Clubs (DVCCC) medal is awarded to a photographer who has indicated on their entry form/online profile that they are a member of a current DVCCC club, and who have not otherwise received a higher award in the section.
Judge's Choice |
A Judge's Choice award is a DPS Bronze medal that is given to the favorite image of each individual judge, in each section that they have judged, that has not already received a higher award. There are therefore three such medals awarded for each section.
People's Choice |
Attendees at the exhibition are invited to vote for two prints, one by a local photographer and one by a non-local photographer as their personal favorites. The two prints receiving the most votes are awarded “People’s Choice“ medals and are listed in the following year’s catalog.
